iSpicy Chocolate Treats

Two 6-oz squares bittersweet
chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp shortening
¾ tsp ground ginger
Whole and finely chopped pistachios

Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Set aside. Combine chocolate and shortening in a 4-cup glass measuring cup. Set cup into a bowl of very warm water that will cover the bottom half of cup. Don't get water in the chocolate, however. Stir chocolate until smooth, about 15 minutes, keeping water warm. Add ginger. Spread chocolate evenly into a 12x8-inch rectangle on cook sheet. Score squares with a knife, and quickly sprinkle and arrange pistachios over the tops of the squares. Allow to sit at room temperature for about 1 to 2 hours.
Makes 16 bars.
